AJ and I traveled to Abruzzo, Italy where his grandfather's family was from when I was pregnant with Max and we took back home an obsession with arrosticini or lamb skeweres made with an affordable cut of leg of lamb. Something synergistic happens with the lean meat and flavorful fat are layered in a "Cubo", then mass sliced into 3/4" wide bamboo skewered "kebobs". Proximity to open wood fire and a simple seasoning of salt make these sing. Make a few dozen and watch your friends scramble for all the bites. Can't wait to hear what you think! I had a shoot down in NYC with NBC a bit ago and stayed at 1 Hotel Central Park (for the signature scent alone, love that hotel). Jonathan Waxman's Jams is the restaurant downstairs and traveling solo, I was swept away by the fresh and inventive tapas style menu. His kale caesar blew my mind and we nailed it here.
